Hey fans and friends alike....michael here. just wanted to clear the air on some rumors as well as update you all on what's been going on with me. it's ALOT so here goes....
1) the Rachel McAdams drama: this is the FIRST, LAST, and ONLY time I will speak on this issue. no we were never dating! just friends....sadly i wanted more. she didn't. thats the honest truth. I went to rehab because i realized i was dating a girl I REALLY liked (the DROP dead gorgeous Rosie Huntington, a very sweet, but immature girl) and foolishly cheating on her with a troubled party girl (Demi, I wish you the best girl) and all the while secretly pining over a friend whom I chatted with daily (Rachel) and when I couldn't have her, I began hitting on another friend/former co-star (Michelle Monaghan) to numb the pain. I was using PEOPLE! Good people. People I cared about. And it had to stop. So I checked myself in and realized I needed help. Dr. Drew and his staff did wonders and I am eternally grateful. I thought when Rachel paid me that visit and took me out to dinner while in rehab that it meant we'd have a chance but I was wrong. When she made the truth painfully clear that all we'd be is friends I exploded at her and said some awful things and she said some awful things to me. We are no longer friends. Not on speaking terms. Nothing. And I don't see that ever changing. I ruined a great friendship and for that I am sad.
...I have learned a great deal in the past few months and I hope to change for the better. I really do. I want love. I want a real relationship. If you see me out and about with a girl (or even more than one), don't think I have gone back to my old ways. It's ok for me to date, and be sexually active. What I CANT do is be banging 3 or 4 girls at once, or hitting on every girl I see, or hooking up with a porn star because I'm bored. That's the old me and he is gone...hopefully Forever! Spending time with good, genuine people is what I need. And yes I love the company of girls/women. Everything about them, the way they walk/talk/move/smell/etc. just intoxicates me and makes me happy and I love being around them and Dr. Drew taught me to be a girl's friend FIRST before I fall for her. I plan on taking his advice....
2) OK...back to MOVIES: currently we are filming Trust Me in New Jersey. It has been lovely. I love this cast (Shaenece Richards, Jennifer Lawrence, Clive Owen, Catherine Keener) and writer/director Kathleen Roberts (daughter of Eric Roberts, niece of Julia Roberts) is AMAZING. She is one of loveliest people I have ever met. I have not yet filmed any scenes. I only have two or three scenes in the film and I am still eating TONS to gain the 20 or so pounds of fat I need for the role. I love eating ice cream and pizza and mexican food everyday lol. I promise you all will NOT recognize me! At this point I just hang out on set to check up on everyone and play pranks on my cast and crew. It has been quite fun and easily the most care free time I have had on set LOL. I eventually should shoot my parts in late July sometime. The one person the cast I have bonded with the most is co-star Jennifer Lawrence (I'm sure you caught us on TMZ last month lol). We have so much in common! We been laughing on set everyday and pretty much spending every night watching movies in her hotel. Loving her dark hair too. Here's a hot pic of her with her new brunette look:
I admire her so much. She is filming The Hunger Games in Canada every other week and doing Trust Me on the other weeks and weekends. I love her commitment. She is going to be one to watch in upcoming years!3) I know there's been alot of news about me dropping out of projects and why. Well to clear the air, I did drop out of Vin Diesel's Redemption and that is it. I was replaced on Scarred...Spike Lee's Michael Jackson film cannot get funding (come on HOLLYWOOD, since when can't one of our finest filmmakers of all time not get funding???)....and the Phone Booth sequel Truth or Die is stuck in development hell. I think they are tweeking the script or something to make sure it is just right. Believe me, Olivia Wilde, Kiefer Sutherland, and I cannot wait to get started on that film and hopefully it will become a reality...someday.
4) Alien: Genesis! So rumor is I have secretly joined the cast of Ridley Scott's new sci-fi epic. All I have to say is....Anya Camilla Bella, Bradley Cooper, Idris Elba, Charlize Theron, Guy Pearce, and the chameleon...all in the same movie???? SICK!!!! Just wait and see....we got somethin' in store for ya!!!! =)
5) Lastly, The Devil's Double. Oliver Stone and I have been on the phone constantly talking about this film and the script and we have changed the release date. Due to my schedule clearing up we are planning on filming THIS FALL and releasing the film November 2012, rather than 2013. Awesome! We have cast my female co-star in the film, an Irish actress named Neve O'Reilly. We met on the set of Trust Me. She was working on the crew and told me she has been struggling to make her acting career take off so I sent her tape to Oliver. He loved her. I can tell she is gonna be a blast to work with. She is hilarious, beautiful, and very talented. We've become incredibly close. I can't wait to start making this film. It will blow you all away. Think of Last King of Scotland meets Scarface in Iraq.
....Trust Me, Alien: Genesis, and The Devil's Double are the only three films I will release in 2012, and of course the next Bond will be in summer 2013. I have no clue what's going on after that so don't ask lol. My next film in theaters will be my romantic drama If I Had You this October 2011, which stars myself, Keira Knightley, Sam Worthington, and Rosie Huntington. The great Cameron Crowe is of course writing and directing. Expect a trailer on July 22 to play with showings of Friends With Benefits!
