Chants of Reign announce second album title and touring plans at Grammy afterparty

Michael is now in LA after spending a few weeks in Europe with girlfriend Gina Rage. As he said in last month's blog entry he is here training for his second James Bond film and also recording the second Chants of Reign album. At the Grammy afterparty he and bandmates Mike (bass), Alan (guitar), Roman (drums), and James (turntables, keyboards) mentioned the album will have a totally different sound. "Yea the last album was a mixture of alot of things we're into. Cinematech, indie rock, Irish blues" says Meyers. "I wanted to mix everything we were into and all of our cultures, because James is Irish born but British raised and Alan is Irish and I come from Irish routes with a little British in me and I'm also an LA kid as are Roman and Mike. Mike's from Sherman Oaks and has lived in NY and Vegas. He's been in and out of Hollywood for a while now pursuing an acting career as well as music. Roman is from Agoura Hills but raised in Long Beach. So you mix all those sounds and you add the incredibly dark dark place I was in when making that (first) album and you get 'These Empty Streets and the Lonely Heart That Still Beats'. But even in that title, there's hope. The heart still beats. Still moving forward. And this new album is all about that. Moving forward. It's gonna be called 'The Epic Mysterious Journey Between Melancoly and Eutopia'. It's a happy album. About the road back from deep deep sadness to happiness. It's a really positive and upbeat album. We got dance tracks, trance tracks. you name it. But we also got that indie rock sound from the first album. The cinematech is still there. It's a big blender. Guetta is working on it. A Croatian DJ named Yakov is working on it. An Australian writer/producer named Gotye is working on some amazing songs with us. Taio Cruz, Will.I.Am. Jeremy Greene whose done songs for B5, Justin Timberlake, Flo-Rida (are producing songs as well). Stephen Jenkins of Third Eye Blind, one of my heroes, is writing songs with me right now. One is gonna be the first single. I'm trying to get in the studio with One Republic. Ryan Tedder is one of my favorite songwriters and producers. I went to the Scarred premiere in December with Gina and that was obviously directed by Taylor Lee, who directed me in Popular 3 and she also starred in The Best Tears so me and her know each other and she's been dating their drummer for like a bunch of years now. So I met him there and he seemed down to work with us. So yea, it's just been crazy. I can't wait for the world to hear it. It's a new day, a new energy. For everyone on the verge of giving up hope who loved the last album, whether or not your life has turned around since then, this new album will take you on a new journey. A journey of hope for a better and happier view on life. I'm very excited!" adds Meyers.

He mentioned the album should be in stores sometime around September or October 2012 and he wants to actually tour this time around with the band and time the tour with the release of the album and his movie filming schedule will not open up until then. He also said we can expect a first single 'sometime this summer'. "We've already picked out the first two singles, and they're amazing" he says.
